I often recommend Frequent Flyer programs to friends and customers. I find these programs to be beneficial in so many ways! I try to determine my trips for the coming year. Then I see which airline will go “direct” to those destinations. Then I sign up for the frequent flyer program and try to support the credit card that goes
along with it.
For instance, in belonging to the American Airlines AAdvantage Rewards program we often use miles to fly free or upgrade. We also use the credit card associated with the program. We have signed up for the credit card with the most rewards. We can use our points with American Airlines or US Airways. We do not pay for baggage, and we can board early. We also have priority security check-in at some destinations along with the early boarding. Early boarding allows you to usually put your carry on luggage overhead where you can get to it. Between American and US Airways, they cover many locations and make getting their easy and convenient. Plus, you can’t beat flying FREE of charge!
The rewards add up quickly and with American Airlines and we can also purchase extra miles if we come up short for a destination. We can also use miles to buy tickets for another passenger. With families so spread out, it makes sense to belong to a Frequent Flyer program and take advantage of the rewards. You probably use a credit card to make many purchases anyway, so you might as well get miles! Whether you want to fly FREE or upgrade, you’ll enjoy the programs and benefits. Many of these programs tie in with hotels and car rental agencies too! You’ll be more inclined to say “yes” when invited to weddings and parties that are far away from home if you have the opportunity to use miles to pay for plane tickets!
