Lightweight Luggage

While every company seems to claim “lightweight” luggage today, there are some brands and styles that are truly light in weight. You can usually find the weight before taking “lightweight” for granted. The term is important today. Most airlines are charging for overweight bags. Plus, it is simply easier to travel with bags that are lightweight. It is easily to pack lightweight luggage, lift it, and use it. Luggage comes in hardside and softsided styles. These are also available in lightweight styles! Make the journey easier and look for the truly light in weight!

From Hartmann, the 7R hard-side luggage collection is lightweight. Their Long Journey size is 29.5” and weighs in at just 5.75 pounds. This elegant Hardside luggage is well-designed and super light in weight. It is impact resistant and has easy rolling spinner wheels. There is a built-in combination lock that is TSA approved for airline travel. It also has water-resistant zippers to keep everything inside clean and dry. Another hard-side collection is from Roncato luggage. There UNO ZSL 30” hard-side spinner is made in Italy. Weighing in at seven pounds, it has many innovative features. Of course, there are spinner wheels and the built-in TSA approved combination lock. Roncato UNO ZSL also has a removable and machine washable interior lining to always keep the luggage fresh. The zippers are water resistant and tamper-proof. The exterior is 100% premium polycarbonate that is scratch resistant. There are many hard-side luggage pieces that claim to be light, but these are well designed and very easy to use.

Soft-sided luggage has a varied selection too. One of the most innovative collections is from Roncato luggage. Their Venice SL 29” weighs just 6.2 pounds. Designed in Italy, it has the innovative removable and machine washable interior lining to keep the luggage fresh. The zippers are water and tamper resistant. With spinner wheels, the luggage rolls easily in any direction. Lipault Paris luggage has a four wheel spinner in Twill nylon. You can glide the bag along in any direction. Their 28” size weighs 6.6 lightweight pounds and is completely soft-sided. They also offer the same size in a foldable, two wheel version. Be sure to look at the weight for luggage advertised as lightweight to be sure it is what you want! You definitely don’t want to be charged at the airport for overweight baggage!
